Meet the new Make Noise/Soundhack Spectraphon
The dual spectral oscillator is built on a new digital hardware platform.
Make Noise have announced a new collaboration with Tom Erbe of Soundhack, based on an entirely new digital hardware platform. The Spectraphon isn’t a conventional oscillator by any stretch of the imagination. Instead, Make Noise explain that it “uses real-time spectral analysis and resynthesis to create new sounds from those that already exist”. Signal inputs can be used to modulate a set of harmonics (Spectral Amplitude Modulation) or stored as Arrays for use in Spectral Amplitude Oscillator mode. You can hear it in action above.
The Make Noise Spectraphon is expected soon, price TBC.
