This distinctive new hybrid synth uses bitmasking to generate tones.
On the way from Kodamo, the Mask1 is an unusual hybrid synth, based around bitmasking for generating tones from its oscillators. Bitmasking splits a waveform into multiple slices and then uses algorithms to apply modulation to slices, such as flipping their polarity, repeating them or silencing them. The results can vary from classic virtual analogue tones to unorthodox timbres which you’d struggle to achieve using other synthesis techniques. You can see the Mask1 in action above.
The Kodamo Mask1 is available to pre-order now, priced at £1,999.
