Cassetteboy blasts No10 parties in new Rage/Boris mashup
Notorious mashup master helped by Coldwar Steve on new video
Time-honoured YouTube mashup artist duo Cassetteboy have unveiled their latest electro-political mashup, ‘Against The Party Machine’, which features the recently-disgraced Boris Johnson satirically decrying his own actions from the past two years.
As with the usual Cassetteboy format, the mashup’s lyrics contain audio from Boris Johnson’s own speeches, cut up and reorganised to hilarious effect. The lyrics are set to the instrumental backing for Rage Against The Machine’s politically-aggravated nu-metal classic,. ‘Killing In The Name’.
“With cheese and wine / and forty guys / from “next slide please” / to wine and cheese / the rules you see / don’t apply to me / and if I get caught / I won’t repent / I’ll lie and say / it was a work event”, goes the new mashup.
It follows the recent scandal over evidence of the numerous parties taking place on Downing Street in spring and summer 2020, when COVID-19 restrictions against parties and gatherings were at their strictest for the rest of the country.
