Regno Maggiore, the project of Turin-based composer Davide Meucci, has unveiled a new track exclusively through Juno Daily today.
‘Sam Saa’,is a dubby neofolk droner, awash with prodding kicks, chord refractions, psyche-piercing pedal notes and even a touch of sitar tones.
It’s taken from their forthcoming debut album Esasummà – out on January 28 via Gang Of Ducks – and follows his 2019 six tracker Astroveliero.
The upcoming LP is said to be an intimate tale of Maggiore’s life. It is also intended as a tool to implement the shamanic Recapitulation technique: a ritual for moving the effects of accumulated memories related from our personal life into our physical and spiritual body. It was made with DIY instruments, sounds and voices.
According to Maggiore the album “is an Earth-rooted record taking inspiration from the cosmos, which dances with our planet and makes the stars’ eyes shine”.
