Babble off – Orb cancel ‘Babble On’/Le Petit Orb tour amid COVID-19 concerns
Iconic ambient overlords issue regretful cancellation notice

The Orb’s recently announced Le Petit Orb tour has been cancelled amidst increasing concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.
The electronic duo had previously announced the extensive, small venues-based UK tour in September, but have now shared news of the cancellation via their Facebook page.
A statement on Facebook read: “We regret to inform that the upcoming ‘Le Petit Orb’ tour has been cancelled due to increasing COVID-19 concerns. More details to follow. We are so sorry, all we want to do is play for you all.”

Excitement had previously been rife over the announcement, with Orb member Alex Paterson exclaiming, “Come see LPO! A two-piece that takes The Orb into places other orbs can’t reach. Into lectures and funny hat competitions with saucy music from the future – played by Le Petit Orb.”
Pencilled in was a live set by Paterson and Michael Rendall, plus ‘Deep Visual Lighting’, and a Q&A with Paterson based on his recent autobiography ‘Babble On An Ting’.
It is not yet known as to whether the tour is fully cancelled, or postponed.
The tour announcement came as another Orb offshoot – Orb Sound System or OSS for short – prepares to release their debut album Enter The Ketttle on Novermber 19 via the new Orbcure label. Preorder your copy here
