Fast envelopes with built-in VCA and sound sources.
New from Qu-Bit, the Cascade is described as a “ratcheting envelope generator, VCA, and sound source”, teaming a fast, powerful envelope generator with a built-in high-quality VCA. What’s unusual about it is that it includes built-in sound sources, so as well as processing external audio you can also use the module’s internal algorithms: white noise, 808 kick and hi-hat, and a high frequency sine wave.
Qu-Bit promise that it’ll “open up your system in ways that make you wonder how you ever lived without it”, including rhythmic modulation effects and pumping compression as well as classic VCA applications. You can see it in action below, along with some other recent Qu-Bit modules.
