New free custom firmware from developer Pajen unlocks the ability to play samples chromatically as well as triggering one-shot hits.

It’s a fairly simple upgrade, but it adds a feature that many people thought Korg should have included as standard, allowing you to use the Volca Sample in a completely different way and think of it more like a traditional keyboard sampler than an MPC-style drum sampler.

The custom firmware is available now as a free download via a WeTransfer link.

(Note: as far as we understand, installing custom firmware will void any warranty on the unit, although the standard firmware can be reinstalled if you choose to do so.)
