Murray CY bangs Into Amnesia

Stream a track from the Glaswegian’s forthcoming Conformist EP on L.I.E.S.

Scottish producer and DJ Murray CY first made headlines on Juno Plus by launching the Contort Yourself label in 2014 with a striking, bizarrely-titled various artist 12″ featuring the first sounds heard from Parrish Smith, as well as a brutal Hauff remix. Subsequent releases have gone on to lift tracks from the archives of Beau Wanzer, Spanish industrial legends Esplendor Geométrico and Mark Forshaw, among others, presenting them under even more outlandish banners (Shark Story Of The Century anyone?). Earlier this year, Murray CY aligned with the like-minded Dutch label Knekelhuis for an LP of personal ’80s wave edits that touched up music by the likes of French industrial duo Die Form and London’s Nocturnal Emissions.

The Contort Yourself man now joins the L.I.E.S. 2016 onslaught with a full solo debut 12″ that Ron Morrelli and the crew have “been bangin at gigs all year now.” Entitled Conformist, and due for a release on September 10, the hectic scramble of B2 cut “Into Amnesia” can be streamed in full below.
