Club No-No turns four
DJ Fett Burger and new name Kristoffer Drevdal appear on the label’s fourth record.
If you were lucky enough to scoop Snorre Magnar Solberg’s self-released ÆØÅ 001 7″ in 2013 then it’s likely you’re well up to date on the movements of the illusive Scandinavian producer. It was his collaborative untitled 12″ with SVN on SUED in 2014 which first peaked our attention, ranking up their as one of our most loved records that year. Since then, Solberg’s inaugurated his own Club No-No label with a two-track solo 12″ before hooking up with DJ Sotofett & SVN for more wild jungle ambience on Club No-No 2. Remaining silent in 2015, Solberg resurfaced in tribal style this year with two arid drum tracks which introduced Club No-No friends Torstein Mills while bringing more attention to Ullis Tapes up start Tom Ace.
Another unheralded name in Kristoffer Drevdal is given a leg up on this fourth Club No-No record, with the Norwegian production mate lending a hand to the A-side cut, while DJ Fett Burger turns in an apparent version of the A-side. Regarding the Fett Burger track, a label write up suggests there’s a “reminisce of Norwegian ’90s house” to the unofficial remix which introduces brighter chords and tones to an other otherwise darker tribal techno production with subtle tropical atmospheres and shamanistic percussion.
Club No-No will release Club No-No 4 by Snorre Magnar Solberg & Kristoffer Drevdal and DJ Fett Burger in August.
