Porridge Bullet Are Looking At The Stars & Heavens

And what a cult delight Tallinn’s Porridge Bullet label is turning into for those who like their electronic music with a certain unpredictable edge. We last heard from the Estonian crew with their superb archival trawl through the intense early ’90s ragged EBM of cult Tallinn act Hypnosaurus, whilst the more attentive collectors out there probably got caught up in the bidding wars for the label’s Ahiwo Ahiwo Highlife edits. Our focus returns to all things Porridge Bullet with the news the label are planning a second edition of their Bullets 12″ compilation series featuring another intriguing assortment of contributors with the name Superstar & Star standing out in particular.

Described as a “genius yet-to-be-recognized” by the label, Superstar & Star is the work of Trinidadian home recording artist Neville Lawrence whose music Porridge Bullet apparently discovered after stumbling upon his YouTube channel. There is a great trailer for an upcoming Superstar & Star documentary the label are involved in that you can view here whilst we are happy to present the first online airing of his Bullets No. 2 cut “Looking At The Star & Heavens.” Presented as a self-styled YouTube Remould by Tallinn-based London ex-pat DJ Rhythm Doctor, the track will appeal to any fans of Dean Blunt’s solo turn as Ramirez from a few years ago.
