D’Marc Cantu shifts gears on Run Out Run

dmarc-cantu-590

The Ann Arbor artist will return to Tom Dicicco’s label with a four-track EP.

Tom Dicicco’s Run Out Run surfaced in 2013 as a means to release his two Under The Aquadrome 12″s. Since then the Northampton DJ and producer’s label has taken in music by John Osborn & Tallmen. 785, Killawatt and Bristol’s October and Borai who featured on a various artist release last year. Of the names to appear on Run Out Run, it’s D’Marc Cantu that arguably stands out most with the prolific Michigan producer, whose solo release rate has somewhat slowed, first giving Dicicco four tracks for the Car Type EP. Less than 12 months later Cantu will return to Run Out Run and the motoring themes continue with a new four-track record called Gear Shift.

It provides Cantu with his first release of 2016 following a spate of debuts on other labels like London-based label Drone (run by Richard Fearless), Brooklyn’s Thema, Drvg Cvltvre’s New York Haunted and another on DMCMUSIC which we can assume is Cantu’s own label. Furthermore, this record follows last year’s Bopside album Cantu put out with Tadd Mullinix as 2AM/FM last June and provides Run Out Run with a ninth release in total, marking Cantu as the first artist to return to Dicicco’s growing platform. Due out later this month, you can preview the Gear Shift 12″ below.

Run Out Run will release Gear Shift by D’Marc Cantu in late-February.
