Batu returns to Dnuos Ytivil

Omar McCutcheon will release his first 12″ of 2016 on the Bristol label at the end of the month.

If there’s a producer worth keeping an eye on at the moment it’s Batu. The Bristol-based Omar McCutcheon enjoyed a watershed 2015 with releases on Hotline and Beneath’s Mistry label in addition to the launch of his own Timedance platform which also put out a record by Opal Tapes affiliate L.SAE. Before that however, the Batu name made its debut on Pinch’s Tectonic offshoot Cold Recordings before making an appearance on Livity Sound’s sub-label reversal Dnuos Ytivil, and it has proved only a mater of time before McCutcheon’s bombastic alias would return to the Livity fold in one shape or another.

Later this month Batu will land a second release on the Livity Sound reverse label with a club ready two-track 12″ called Bleeper Feed / April These. By the clips, which you can hear below, Batu’s two cuts find themselves in a reserved, heads down mood providing a balancing contrast to the spiralling sounds of Simo Cell’s Dnuos Ytivil debut from last year. This first 12″ of Batu for 2016 services McCutcheon with his sixth release all up and with no remixes to his name out there just yet it’s clear the Bristol talent still has a lot to offer.

Livity Sound will release Bleeper Feed / April These by Batu on January 29.
