Talbot Fade brings November Versions to Local Action

Yamaneko’s alias presents an album of ambience to the London label to close out 2015.

It’s taken a while for the Talbot Fade project to find its footing with an official release, but it has been quietly leaking out into the online thoroughfare over the past couple of years. Firstly the London-based artist self-released a self-titled MP3 album made up of sixteen tracks, each with an accompanying photograph that echoed the somewhat morose nature of the music. Following that low-key disclosure, he was invited to record a mix for Truants that delivered a new wedge of unreleased material and edits entitled November Is So Alive For Better And For Worse.

Local Action are of course more commonly known for their garage, grime and other such upfront club-baiting styles, but the announcement of November Versions echoes the release of Talbot Fade’s other alias, Yamaneko, late last year. Pixel Wave Embrace dealt with instrumental grime and video game soundtrack tropes merged in a largely ambient fashion, marking something of a Christmas-time theme for Tom Lea’s label to reach out to more experimental material.

Amongst original Talbot Fade tracks, November Versions also sports remixes Talbot Fade has undertaken for artists such as Loon, Boardgame James and Rimplton, who he shares a connection with by way of the Daybreak collective, while his Yamaneko project also gets a revision. The ten tracks will be released digitally next week, available through the Local Action Bandcamp site. In the mean time you can listen to the track “Forever, We Weren’t Here” from the album in the SoundCloud player below.

Local Action will release November Versions by Talbot Fade on December 11.
