Metropolis lands on Charlois

Nick Lapien’s Unify 12″ will arrive on the Pinkman sister label in January – stream in full here.

Dutch producer Nick Lapien has been kept busy this year with Artefakt, a collaborative project with compatriot Robin Koek that’s been bubbling away since 2012 but really took off in 2015 thanks to The Fifth Planet, a widely acclaimed debut for Delsin. He’s also got a wealth of solo material in his discography under the names Lapien, Nepal and Metropolis dating back to the turn of the decade with Photic Fields, Finale Sessions, Fred P’s Soul People Music, Sequencias and Manchester crew meandyou. among the labels he’s worked with.

Whilst there was just the one Metropolis 12″ issued this year, Lapien is set to start the new year with a bang and a debut on Pinkman offshoot Charlois. The three-track Unify 12″ looks to be the most diverse Metropolis offering yet, with the cinematic Motor City stylings of the closing title cut complemented by two gloopy EBM-inspired productions. You can stream all three tracks in full ahead of release, with Metropolis a fine addition to the Charlois cause following records by Dollkraut, Roberto Auser, Cliff Lothar and Herzel this year.

Charlois will release Unify by Metropolis on January 11.
