DJ Sotofett lands on Fit Sound

The Norwegian will release Percussion Mixes Vol. 1 next month.

Fit Sound may have released just the one record so far this year, Carmine from label boss Aaron ‘Fit’ Siegel, but it was undoubtedly one of 2015’s finest. The title track was a timeless slab of acid-flecked house that is likely to feature prominently among next month’s obligatory end of year lists. The year will however bring another Fit Sound release under scrutiny with news that Sex Tags man DJ Sotofett will make his debut on the label with the Percussion Mixes Vol. 1. In contrast to Siegel’s production activities, DJ Sotofett has had a most prolific year with his fine Honest Jon’s album complemented by a new Laton record, plus a smattering of remixes of Dresvn, Luca Lozano and Simoncino.

Due out next month, Percussion Mixes Vol. 1 features the amusingly titled original Sotofett production “Tribute To ‘Sore Fingers'” backed with a remix of Abu Sayah, whom RA confirm has a new record coming on Versatile next year. The understandably percussion-heavy A-Side (which may be a nod to a late-’90s Laurent Garnier track) can be streamed in full below. This 12″ union is not surprising given the strong relationship between the ‘boss from Moss’ and Siegel; the pair have shared production credits on 12″s issued by Laton and Wania in recent times whilst Fit Distribution handle the US dissemination of Sex Tags releases.

Fit Sound will release Percussion Mixes Vol. 1. by DJ Sotofett in December.
