John T. Gast Invocations II mixtape gets the reissue treatment
The artist’s 2014 Blowing Up The Workship mix will find a vinyl release later this month.
When it comes to trawling the internet for podcasts it should be said Blowing Up The Workshop is one of the brightest burning independent beacons providing artists a platform to have their music or mixes heard. Galcher Lustwerk’s 100% Galcher mix took the internet by storm in 2013, while Lukid’s selection of classic piano pieces is a personal recommendation from Juno Plus editor Tony Poland. Another one worth seeking out is John T. Gast’s Invocations II (The Obelisk Of TJ // Age Of Apathy Tape) from 2014, which will now follow the aforementioned 100% Galcher in making the transition from the online realm to the vinyl format.
Comprised of nine untitled tracks, Invocations II (The Obelisk Of TJ // Age Of Apathy Tape) is seemingly being self-released by Gast and provides the low-lying artist with his second transmission of the year after his Planet Mu-issued debut LP Excerpts. It’s no surprise Gast is taking the DIY route with the majority of his music to date self-released, aside from records on the Men Scryfa and All Bone labels (the latter alongside sometime collaborator Inga Copeland). For a full supplement of what’s to come listen to the original mix via Blowing Up The Workshop’s SoundCloud below.
Xx will release Invocations II (The Obelisk Of TJ // Age Of Apathy Tape) by John T. Gast on October 19.
