Healing Force Project is in Perihelion Transit

The second album from Antonio Marini will appear on Eclipsemusic next month.

With a discography that counts Acido Records, Sequencias, Sun Cat and Eerie amongst his outlets, Antonio Marini has done a fine job of establishing himself in the murkier corners of the contemporary electronic music world while sticking to an uncompromising remit of sonic exploration. Most recently this year the otherworldly sound of Healing Force Project could be heard on steady-rising UAE label Bedouin Records, as we reported in amongst a salvo of other releases. Prior to that he had been found sharing space with Willis Anne, Beneath and Max D on two separate Berceuse Heroique releases, ever the vagabond and ever in demand. It’s no mean feat considering the challenging nature of the music that Marini makes, orbiting in the same celestial range as Jamal Moss or Afrikan Sciences, and still his discography continues to grow.

Turin label Eclipsemusic released Marini’s debut album Omicron Segment back in 2013, and it is here he returns to with a second long-player that sprawls across the spectrum of his electronic voodoo. The label is quick to distance Marini’s work from any easy categorization, stating that his music is, “made of oneiric visions, unexplored landscapes and it’s never connected with contemporary hype or music genres. Speaking of techno would be reductive even if the technology signature is openly declared by the use of drum machines pulsating at 4/4 beat.” However they do concede that, “references to seventies jazz are evident.”

As well as his own bewildering sequences, Marini has called upon Italian jazz trumpeter Giorgio Li Calzi to lend some additional musical unpredictability into the mix with excellent results. You can hear snippets of this fusion nestled within the ten-minute preview stream that is already up at the Eclipsemusic SoundCloud page, embedded below for your convenience.

Eclipsemusic will release Perihelion Transit by Healing Force Project in November.
