Marco Bernardi brings his Dancing Clowns to Berceuse Heroique
The fifteen-minute track from the Bristol-based producer comes backed with a Specter remix.
It’s been a good couple of years for fans of Marco Bernardi’s brand of muscular electro and techno. The artist has hit dizzying levels of productivity in the past couple of years, with over twelve singles landing everywhere from Brokntoys, Tief and Harbour City Sorrow through to the likes of Happy Skull and Hype_LTD on his local turf of Bristol. As well as running the Elevator Sound hardware shop in the back of Idle Hands, Bernardi has found time to deliver recent missives to Croatian label Barba and Jamal Moss’ Mathematics label. Considering his career reaches back over ten years the former Glaswegian lad shows no signs of slowing in his quest for Detroit-fuelled machine music.
It’s fair to say that Bernardi has a kindred spirit in Berceuse Heroique, a label whose output has maintained a fierce pace since starting in 2013 and continues to announce more releases by the week. He won’t be the first Bristol-based artist to appear on the label either, with Rhythmic Theory and Hodge both having recently turned out records for Gizmo’s ever-building empire, the latter about to issue another single on BH in the coming months. Details have now emerged of a new instalment from Bernardi scheduled to land at the end of the September. “The Dancing Clowns” is a particularly grandiose statement from Bernardi, clocking in at fifteen minutes and representing the deeper side of his musicality. On remix duties is Chicago producer Specter with an equally hefty 10 minute version that has us even more excited for his mooted debut album on Sound Signature.
Berceuse Heroique will release The Dancing Clowns by Marco Bernardi on September 23.
