Avian introduce Litüus
The Chicago artist will make his debut on Shifted’s label with 19805.-_19905, later this month.
A summer of silence from the Avian camp was broken with the late-July news that sister label Mira was being close for quite logical reasons, with Shifted explaining the direction his main operation “has taken now seems to blend quite seamlessly with what Mira was meant to represent”. The news was accompanied by hints of the upcoming Avian release schedule with new material from Shawn O’ Sullivan’s 400PPM wedged in alongside more Sigha music as A Vision Of Love, fresh Shifted and an unfamiliar name in Litüus.
The current musical concern of Chicago-based composer and visual artist Connor Camburn, Litüus material to date has arrived in the shape of cassette releases for US label Brave Mysteries and Australian operation Mazurka Editions. Litüus will debut on Avian later this month with the six-track 12” 19805.-_19905, comprised of single-take recordings on hardware instrumentation by Camburn in an effort to explore “the de-composition of musical or architectural spaces through musical forms imagined as inverted contours and negative spaces.”
Avian will release 19805.-_19905, by Litüus on September 21.
