Patricia returns to Opal Tapes

The American is back on Stephen Bishop’s label with a six-track LP called Bem Inventory.

First surfacing in 2013 with the Body Issues cassette for Opal Tapes, the New York-based Patricia has quicky become a blip of interest on the Juno Plus radar. After that tape was reissued as the inaugural vinyl release from Stephen Bishop’s Black Opal sister label, Max Ravitz brought his Patricia project to Spectral Sound with the Side Piece EP. Since then, Ravitz has developed something of a collaborative streak, teaming up with Lumigraph for a Black Mold contribution to the first vinyl release from Budapest label Farbwechsel and hooking up with Jahiliyya Fields to deliver a three-track self-titled 12″ for L.I.E.S.

Opal Tapes have now revealed Ravitz, whom Brendan Arnott interviewed last year, will return to the label at the end of the month with a six-track album called Bem InventoryNews of the record arrives soon after Ravitz and Nik ‘Bookworms’ Dawson debuted their Pulpo collaboration for L.I.E.S. offshoot Russian Torrent Versions and is the latest in a strong suite of 2015 releases for Opal Tapes. Varg and Michel Isorinne’s D.Å.R.F.D.H.S. project, Ontario Hospital (aka Dave Foster and Richard Oddie), Best Available Technology and Xosar’s recommended Let Go LP are among the highlights from Opal Tapes this year. You can stream the dense “Bed of Nails” from the album below.

Opal Tapes will release Bem Inventory by Patricia on August 30.
