Manta enters T-Zero
Get a taste for the Barcelona-based artist’s upcoming record on Where To Now?
Assessing what they have released in 2015, it would be easy to say UK label Where To Now? are up there with our favourite and consistently engaging labels. Be it Eugene Ward’s collaborative performance pieces on the Paint En Pointe album, Lutto Lento’s dusty house and techno or the deranged primal electronics of GDL’s self-titled tape, WTN consistently throw out interesting sonics. The coming months are promising Where To Now? records from the excellent Beatrice Dillon and N.M.O. and it seems a new album from Barcelona musician Manta.
The alias of Manuel Carvalho, co-founder of Barcelona-based publishing house and record label Paralaxe Editions, Manta will make his WTN bow in October with a full length album called Etra. Whilst full details are still under wraps, a full stream of album track “T-Zero” has us compelled for what is in store from Manta as five minutes of contemplative, gently rhythmic electronics unfurl complemented by some neat vocal manipulation.
