S. English resurfaces on Unknown Precept

The Texan artist is responsible for the second cassette release from the Berlin label.

We were first to introduced the sounds of Shane English via French label Desire who issued the Texan artist’s debut vinyl release, Fugitive, back in September 2013. English, however, has an established body of work as part of the industrial act Corporate Park alongside Jonah Lange with cross-format releases dating back to 2009. As revealed in a feature earlier this year, the pair have worked with Beau Wanzer on some material due on the forthcoming Nation boxset The Modern Electronic Element Serie III, with label founder Melvin Oliphant III describing Corporate Park as “a crazy super group whose sound combines Einstürzende Neubauten, Cabaret Voltaire and some dark edge metal beat with attitude.”

The profile of S. English is set to rise further with the news he’s been tapped to provide the second tape release from Berlin’s Unknown Precept label. Given their focus to date on the darker and more abrasive strains of electronic music, the addition of English makes perfect sense. Due for release late next month, the six-track Conscious Walk can be previewed below and should appeal to anyone who enjoyed the caustic tones of English’s aforementioned album for Desire.

Unknown Precept will release Conscious Walk by S. English on August 21.

1. Silent Coup
2. Retrograde
