Mr Beatnick returns to Don’t Be Afraid
The London producer’s first record for 2015 will arrive on Semtek’s label next month.
Since the release of DJ Bone’s Differ-ent 12” you could say Don’t Be Afraid has been on fire, issuing subsequent records by Italian artist Herva, the Memory Jacket 10” by Lily, a various artist EP, with a full debut of Harry Keen’s The Room Below project set for an impending release. Next up is the welcome return of Mr Beatnick, aka Nick Wilson, who has played an integral role in the rise of Don’t Be Afraid since 2011 by supplying the label with the three Synthetes EPs that subsequently formed the basis of their only album to date, The Synthetes Trilogy.
The forthcoming Formed In The Stance represents Mr Beatnick’s first release of 2015 and sees the affable producer return to the DBA fold after gracing London’s Tief Music with the Marshmallows EP last year, and a Don’t Be Afraid press release has described this forthcoming record as Wilson’s “most floor-focussed work to date.” The record has already received support from Benji B who premiered B2 cut “Obsidian Morning” on his Radio 1 broadcast, which only adds to the momentum the label is building, with further records set to come from Ben Cohen and a DBA Dubs 12″ by D-Malice featuring a Basic Soul Unit remix that’s set for an August release. Stream the radio rip of “Obsidian Morning” below.
Don’t Be Afraid will release Formed In The Stance EP by Mr Beatnick on July 10.
