Rush Hour outline Prescription retrospective
An anthology of Ron Trent’s label called Prescription: Word, Sound & Power is due out later this year.
Rush Hour’s widely acclaimed retrospective efforts have already resulted in one of our favourite compilations this year in the shape of the Hunee-curated Soichi Terada Presents Sounds From The Far East. The Amsterdam label have now revealed initial details of plans to celebrate the Prescription label overseen by US house figurehead Ron Trent. Picture above playing around with a SubPac, Trent first established the Prescription label with Chez Damier back in 1993, but has been sole overseer since 1996 and became synonymous with the US deep house sound of the ’90s.
Full details of Prescription: Word, Sound & Power are yet to be revealed, though RA state the retrospective will feature at least one unreleased production from Trent himself, whilst a quote attributed to the producer at the Rush Hour website further outlines what to expect. “As time went on the label changed, the sound changed. sometimes the material that we picked up from other people changed as well,” Trent states, adding they are “aiming to secure the essence of Prescription, what it used to be and what it still is.” A brief trailer for Ron Trent presents Prescription: Word, Sound & Power can be viewed below.
Rush Hour Music will release Ron Trent presents Prescription: Word, Sound & Power in Autumn 2015.
