Voices From The Lake return with live album

Donato Dozzy and Neel will issue Live at MAXXI through Editions Mego in June.

It’s been some three years since Donato Dozzy and Giuseppe ‘Neel’ Tillieci enchanted many with their debut self titled album as Voices From The Lake, and the project has delivered just a smattering of further material in the subsequent period. 12″ releases for The Bunker New York and Concrete have augmented a hefty schedule of live performances from the pair, who obviously also have highly productive solo endeavours to contend with. Both Neel and Dozzy have issued quite albums through Spectrum Spools of late, the former supplying one of our favourite albums of 2014 in Phobos and the latter recently appearing with Sintetizzatrice alongside vocalist Anna Caragnano.

It has now been revealed Editions Mego are planning to release a new album by Voices From The Lake in June which derives from a performance the pair undertook at Rome museum MAXXI as part of the Open Museum Open City exhibition last October. Aptly titled Live at MAXXI, the album features some seven “aquatic sceneries” that the label describes as “embedded in soaking dense atmospheres, gently gyrating us into trance”. It finishes on a cover version of “Max” by Italian pianist Paolo Conte which can be streamed below.

Editions Mego will release Live at MAXXI by Voices From The Lake on June 22.
