Payfone enters Paradise

It’s been an impressive year for Phil South’s Golf Channel, with Mind Fair’s covert expedition into classic NY disco as The Central Executives our favourite release on the label so far. A final batch of Golf Channel transmissions for the year has seen a second Gala Drop album complemented by label debuts for Apiento & Co. and Payfone. The latter is a recently adopted alias of London-based disco selector Phil Passera, and his three-track Paradise 12″ is laced with weighty ’80s boogie flavours perfectly suited to the Golf Channel cause. A video for the title track put together by Passera himself along with some friends is the perfect Payfone primer, and has us hankering for some holiday in the sun action.
