Moon B set for 1080p debut
The star-gazing funkateer will release Lifeworld through the Vancouver tape outpost next month.
1080p continues to be a source of much musical inspiration for us, though it is fairly difficult to keep tabs on its monthly batches of intriguing sonics sourced from across the globe. The label’s focus on lesser-known artists has been a key part of its alluring charm, though it does occasionally work with more recognisable names. As well as DFA affiliate Dan Bodan making an appearance last month, Luke Wyatt released a cassette of Nissan-inspired electronics as Infiniti through the label back in February.
It’s now been revealed the self-styled “bonafide hardware freak & $1 bin record digger par excellence” Moon B is set to grace 1080p next month with Lifeworld. The Los Angeles-based artist is no stranger to the tape format, with releases on PPU and Going Good getting cassette editions, and his arrival on 1080p is excellent news. In his own words, the C30 tape consists of “chopped grainy subcontinental film aural motifs paired with other slankness, bonus synth overlays, moods galore for your bus ride or smoking sesh.”
1080p will release Lifeworld by Moon B on December 16.
