Second round bookings confirmed for Bloc.

Moodymann

Moodymann, Levon Vincent, Function & Inland, Traxx, and DJ Funk just some of the names added to the UK festival’s line up.

As we reported last month, UK festival Bloc. will return to its Somerset location, Minehead, for the first time since 2011, the year we first reviewed the event. Adding to a first wave of artists booked inclusive of Detroit luminaries Jeff Mills, Carl Craig, Robert Hood and Omar S, to Berlin’s Klock and Dettmann and the UK’s Hessle Audio crew, other first round names include Hudson Mohawke, Karenn, Moritz Von Oswald Trio, Modeselektor, with New York post punk-and-disco ensemble ESG providing a welcomed addition.

Organisers have unveiled a hugely impressive second round cast of bookings with house, techno, disco, drum and bass, and experimental genres covered. Moodymann (pictured above), DJ Pierre and Earl ‘Spanky’ Smith’s Phuture collaboration, Levon Vincent, Dean Blunt, Donato Dozzy and Objekt are amongst the headline acts of this second announcement. More back-to-back sets come from Ben Sims & DVS1 and Joy Orbison & Midland. Juno Plus readers will be pleased to see Shanti Celeste, Call Super, Hodge, Ron Morelli and Helena Hauff are also confirmed, with other artists of interest including Perc, Vessel, Paula Temple and a jungle set from Raime.

Alongside Ostgut Ton, Houndstooth and Numbers labels, it’s been revealed Andy Blake and Joe Hart’s respective World Unknown and Bodyhammer operations have been called in to provide Bloc. showcases, as have London promoters Make Me and Electric Minds. For a second announcement far too big for us to cover in the single news story we’ve provided the full list of artists added to the festival below, and for more information visit Bloc.

Bloc. 2015 will take place on March 13-15.
