Mumdance and Logos introduce Different Circles
The new label will launch with the various artists 12″ Weightles
News of a new label endeavour from Logos and Mumdance makes perfect sense, with the pair having previously worked together on several 2013 highlights including a contribution to the former’s superb debut album Cold Mission and two 12″s for Keysound and Tectonic. The momentum built by those two records has worked in Mumdance’s favour this year, facilitating a growing relationship with Tectonic boss Pinch resulting in the excellent Turbo Mitzi 12″ as well as the future classic mix CD Pinch B2B Mumdance. Logos meanwhile has kept busy helping to set the pulse of current grime through the Boxed night he promotes with Slackk, Murlo, and Oil Gang
Taking the same name as the infrequent podcast series and party that Mumdance has been involved in for some two years, the vinyl-only Different Circles label is set to launch next month with a six-track 12″ entitled Weightless Volume One, which draws new material from their community of contemporaries. Both Mumdance and Logos feature on a lead collaboration with Rabit, whilst Glaswegian Inkke, Gobstopper artists Dark0 and Strict Face and the aforementioned Murlo all contribute to a debut release that “traces the liquid space between spectral grime, sound design & electronic experimentation”. A preview of all six tracks should set the tone for what to expect from the record and the label’s ‘weightless’ genre as it grows.
Different Circles will launch with Weightless Volume One 12″ on November 17.
