The Mighty Thor resurfaces on Born Free

Stream the lead track from the superbly named Swedish producer’s upcoming debut for Born Free Records.

Last seen dipping their toes back into the tape market with a sequel of sorts to the excellent KWC 92 LP from Maxbass, Sling & Samo’s label returns to its more regular schedule of 12″ releases with news of a forthcoming Born Free bow for compatriot Mighty Thor. Not the most familiar of names, Mighty Thor is one of numerous production aliases used by grizzled Stockholm artist Tor Löwkrantz, who has also served time as part of Grammy-winning dub techno outfit Hundarna Från Söder alongside one-time Running Back artist Aksel Friberg and Daniel “Kool DJ Dust” Savio.

The forthcoming Tralfamadore 12″ represents Löwkrantz’s first Mighty Thor output in some time, and also includes a remix from L.I.E.S. artist Florian Kupfer. However, given his under the radar status it’s perhaps wise that Born Free have chosen to reintroduce Mighty Thor with a full stream of the title track which lives up to his thunderous name.
