Perc Trax toast a decade with Slowly Exploding compilation

The forthcoming release features a disc of unreleased material from Perc Trax regulars and new faces as well as a mix from label boss Ali Wells.

Ten years into its existence and Perc Trax seems like a well-oiled machine with last year’s expansion into sub-label territory in the shape of Submit and Perc Trax Ltd offshoots, followed by a hive of activity in 2014. The crowning achievement thus far has been The Power & The Glory, a compelling second long player from label boss Ali ‘Perc’ Wells, and it’s been complemented by further collaborations between Wells and Truss, and debuts from Furfriend and Yuji Kondo. News that Perc Trax is to officially celebrate a decade of techno with a forthcoming compilation makes for a welcome surprise, especially as the slyly titled Slowly Exploding offers some hints as to where the label is heading in the future.

Due for release in November, the compilation takes several formats with double CD and digital editions complemented by a series of three 12″ vinyl samplers. These samplers are made up of the new and unreleased material that features on the first CD and sees contributions from label mainstays such as Truss, Sawf, Forward Strategy Group and Perc himself, complemented by some intriguing label debuts. There is some veteran presence in the shape of Dutch producer Drvg Cvltvre, Zhark Recordings boss Kareem, and Martyn Hare whilst there is also room for rising techno hopefuls such as Clouds and young Happa.

The accompanying 23-track mix CD put together by Perc includes new productions from the first disc along with Perc Trax favourites such as the Factory Floor FFGG remix of Forward Strategy Group. It also represents the first commercially released mix from Wells with the compilation signalling the onset of a label tour that will run into early 2015 that’s said to climax with the largest London event for Perc Trax.

Perc Trax will release Slowly Exploding – 10 Years of Perc Trax 2004 – 2014 on November 10.
