Huntleys + Palmers introduces Wrong Steps

Preview the Italian newcomer’s forthcoming EP for the ever-adventurous label.

In addition to working with like-minded artists such as Djs Pareja and Alejandro Paz from the Cómeme stable, the label side of the Huntleys + Palmers operation has succeeded largely thanks to its willingness to act as a platform for unknown and emergent talent. Auntie Flo is perhaps the most obvious example of this, and the template has been retained as H+P have released subsequent music from the likes of Mamacita, Drumtalk, Rroxymore and Petwo Evans.

The latest unknown unearthed by Huntleys + Palmers is Wrong Steps, an Italian producer residing in Berlin whose eponymous debut EP arrives on the label in September. Available to preview below, the four-track release is likened to Floating Points, Portable and Metro Area by the label, and there is certainly a swing to “Glam” and richness of texture in “Rain” that qualifies such comparisons. Berlin readers should look out for the launch party at Berghain Kantine with Wrong Steps playing live in the company of Auntie Flo, Mehmet Aslan and special guests General Ludd; more info on that here.
