Domestica explore the Domestic Landscape
A collection of rare archival “Subterranean Synth-Wave” is due on the Barcelona-based label later this month.
Having recently celebrated the local wave night Transmission with a compilation of contemporary acts that gave some insight into the internationally flavoured ebb and flow of the Barcelona party, Domestica are set to return to matters of a more archival nature for their next release. Entitled Domestic Landscape (Subterranean Synth-Wave Compilation), the forthcoming collection looks to perfectly encapsulate the label’s mission statement of digging out lesser-known curios of various genres for contemporary reassessment as well as a testament to their digging skills.
Due out later this month, Domestic Landscape gathers together tracks from 10 acts with the majority sourced from highly limited cassette releases, complemented by some unreleased demo material and presented in physical format for the first time. Followers of Domestica will recognise some of the acts featured, with Yorkshire synth brutes Son Of Sam, Devon act A Haunted Sawmill, Swedish new wavers Moß Garten and Dutch duo No Honey From These all present. As with previous releases on the label, Domestica have made no concessions aesthetically for Domestic Landscape, with an edition of 450 records presented in a handmade printed cover housed in a special die-cut jacket and heavy green cardboard sleeve.
Domestica Records will release Domestic Landscape (Subterranean Synth-Wave Compilation) on July 21.
