Watch a visual accompaniment to Sully’s “Blue”

A track from Sully’s jungle-inspired new EP gets a video filled with abstract urban environments.

Revealed last month and released this week, the Blue double pack marks the return of Keysound producer Sully after an absence of almost three years, delivering eight tracks of jungle rollage that came described somewhat wryly by the label as “less “where were you in ’92?” rather “who wants more from ’94?”. Unlike some of the recent jungle-inspired music which has looked to other genres to create hybrid forms, Blue offers a more straightforward take on the style, evident in the clipped snare rolls and vocal samples of the title track, whose video can be viewed below. Placing the track together with a visual accompaniment of brutalist concrete architecture displayed in an array of kaleidoscopic angles, Michael James Lewis’ video provides the perfect reflection of the track’s elevating feel.
