Shifted dons Covered In Sand mantle again
The Crescent Shaped Scars 10″ is due on Mira later this month.
First established early last year, Shifted’s incendiary Covered In Sand project debuted with Heaven’s Gate Suicides, a 10″ + 7″ package featuring a relatively sedate Vatican Shadow remix that was one of the first few releases on Mira, helping to define the more experimentally-minded aesthetic of the Avian offshoot. Having gone on to release two of last year’s more compelling albums in the Shifted set Under A Single Banner for Dom Fernow’s Hospital Productions and the Alexander Lewis LP for Blackest Ever Black, news now surfaces of the closely guarded producer’s return to home base with more Covered In Sand material for Mira.
The Crescent Shaped Scars 10″ is the second Mira release of the year following the double-drop from James Donadio’s Prostitutes project, and features “three abrasive noise workouts”. Ritualistic is a term that tends to get included in many of the press releases for Avian and Mira releases and it’s used to describe the A-side production “Luarica”, whilst the label suggests a “near-melodic whine” permeates the entire release.
Mira will release Crescent Shaped Scars by Covered In Sand on April 28.
