Full details of debut Fatima LP surface
The Queen Bee of Eglo Records will release Yellow Memories in May.
Swedish born Fatima is as much an integral part of the Eglo Records DNA as label founders Alex Nut and Floating Points, first lending her vocals to Stevie Funkineven’s Kleer 12″ back in 2009 and going on to provide a succession of soulful records for the label, including the all time classic “Phone Line” with Funkineven. News of a debut album from the now New York-based Fatima has been an open secret for some time now – Alex Nut spoke openly about it in a feature with us last year – and it now seems the wait is almost over.
Due out in May, Yellow Memories features button pushing credits from Eglo mainstays Floating Points and fLako along with Sound Signature boss man Theo Parrish, Sa Ra Creative Partners producer Computer Jay, Stones Throw artist (and Madlib’s younger brother) Oh No and the wonderfully named Scoop DeVille. Additionally, Eglo boss Alex Nut told us the vinyl has been mastered at half speed by Matt Colton at Alchemy for maximum colour. Fatima fans will recognise a few of the tracks on the album, with “Techno” and “Circle” issued last summer whilst the Family 12″ released earlier this year featured the fLako produced cuts “La Neta” and “Family”. The finalised artwork for Yellow Memories is still under wraps but you can check the full production credits for the album below.
Next month Fatima will cross the Atlantic to partake in a series of live dates throughout Europe with the Eglo Live Band which includes an official launch party for the album at London venue The Jazz Cafe on May 9.
Eglo will release Yellow Memories by Fatima on May 12.
