Todd Terje, Chic, Bee Mask and more added to Sónar 2014
The Barcelona festival has added a third round of names for this year’s festival which also include Chic, Dam-Funk and Audion.
Taking place this year from 12-14 June, the Barcelona leg of the Sónar festival has already revealed appearances from Massive Attack, Plastikman, Oneohtrix Point Never, Caribou, Ron Morelli, Visionist, Laurel Halo and many more. Today’s announcement sees more than 50 names added to the already swelling line up, with the likes of Chic ft. Nile Rodgers, Todd Terje (pictured above) Trentemoller, Boys Noize and Loco Dice among the big names joining a three-day installation of James Murphy and 2 Many DJs’ Despacio soundsystem which was revealed last week.
Sónar by Day will see live shows by Neneh Cherry, Dâm-Funk, Audion, Forest Swords among others, while Sónar by Night’s additions include a team-up between Röyksopp & Robyn, Lykke Li, a 2020Vision showcase and the appearance of Fatima Al Qadiri, NGUZUNGUZU and J-Cush’s Future Brown project. Perhaps most unexpected is the appearance of Spectrum Spools artist Chris Madak, best known for his highly experimental sonics under the Bee Mask moniker, and a team-up with Poland’s Unsound festival, which will see a repeat of Oren Ambarchi’s collaboration with the Sinfonietta Cracovia from last year’s edition in Krakow.
This year’s Sónar festival will take place from 12-14 June, full details and tickets can be found at the official website.
