Son Of Sam have Carnal Knowledge
Domestica are set to dip into the archives of the mid ’80s West Yorkshire industrial troopers – get a taste here.
We can thank Running Back for first alerting us to the sounds of Son Of Sam, with Gerd Janson’s label having issued a restored and remastered edition of the group’s massively futuristic sounding “Nature Makes A Mistake” in 12″ format at the start of 2011. A chance to reassess the prolific Leeds-based group in a more extensive fashion will be afforded by Domestica, with the Barcelona-based archivists planning the very first vinyl issue of The Collapse Of Ancient Funk (1984-85 A.D.). Originally issued in tape format on the Final Image label in 1985, Domestica are set to release it in two volumes with the first one consisting solely of the vocal tracks from The Collapse Of Ancient Funk. Whilst a release date is yet to be finalised, Domestica are streaming the sleazed out industrial disco cut “Carnal Knowledge” which should give you an idea of what’s to come.
