Presk set for return to Ten Thousand Yen
The Dutch producer will issue the Saluki EP on Doc Daneeka’s label in January.
Amsterdam-based Pieter Willems made his debut under the Presk mantle on the Ten Thousand Yen label back in 2011 with the Love Again EP, one of a number of lovingly presented records that nestled snugly in the crawlspace between garage, broken house and dubstep during the pre-bass music era. Since then Willems bass focused brand of club music has graced 2020 Midnight Visions, Fourth Wave and hometown club-turned-label hub Audio Culture.
More recently the Presk project has been put on ice whilst Willems focused on Will & Ink, a collaborative project with Felix Lenferink that has resulted in a pair of distinctive records filled with heads down techno. Next January will, however, see Willems revive the Presk guise for a new release called Saluki on Doc Daneeka’s label Ten Thousand Yen. Already in the hands of gelled up Numbers supremo Jackmaster, the four-track EP continues to showcase Willem’s sound under the Presk mantle which combines a “bruk shuffle with a natural flare for techno”.
Ten Thousand Yen will release the Saluki EP by Presk on January 27.
