Listen to Koehler in the mix for Wichelroede
A raft of forthcoming material and recent cuts feature on the producer’s mix for The Hague-based art collective.
It’s common knowledge that there are too many online outlets for mixes these days; if the internet was a physical realm you could traverse, you would be tripping up for all the podcasts and live sets that are filtered out and left to gather listens. Although the Wichelroede site was only founded this year, their mix series has been characterised by a sense of curation that makes it stand apart, taking in selections from L.I.E.S. affiliates TX Connect and Florian Kupfer, Photonz, White Material and Berlin-based upstart Palms Trax.
The 14th mix for the Dutch site comes from Koehler, the Bristol-based producer whose output for Skudge White and R Zone has been some of the best jungle-inspired techno in recent times. If you caught Koehler’s recent turn on NTS show Reverie you will know what to expect here; quick fire mixing as Koehler rips through a selection that includes forthcoming material from October, Breaker 1 2, Rivet, Cliff Lothar and himself, mixed in with recent and older cuts that includes the West London brukstep classic “This Ain’t Tom & Jerry” from Cousin Cockroach – a full tracklisting is available at the Wichelroede site.
