Kodiak and Matrixxman take on Jess & Crabbe for Hot Haus
Listen to the next release on DJ Haus’ label, which sees some ’90s French house get the reissue treatment backed with some contemporary reworks.
Originally released by Jess & Crabbe in 1999 and 2000 respectively on the French label Fiat Lux, “The Big Booya” and “Council” were a pair of proto French Touch bangers that will soon be the subject of a reissue from DJ Haus’ Hot Haus label. These tracks aren’t the only ones DJ Haus has reissued this year – OHM’s early ’90s classic “Tribal Tone” got the same treatment from his Unknown To The Unknown label back in May.
As with that reissue, which saw remixes from Capracara and Marquis Hawkes, both the Jess & Crabbe cuts have been reworked by two equally club-savvy production units in the form of Kodiak and Matrixxman. The forthcoming EP is available to stream in full below and Kodiak’s massive remix gets our vote, somehow combining jungle and footwork into an all encompassing juggernaut of a track.
