Hodge has Resolve on Punch Drunk

The Bristol-based producer will make his full label debut on Peverelist’s Punch Drunk label next month.

Bristol-based Hodge has had something of a breakthrough year in 2013; as one half of house duo Outboxx alongside Matt Lambert the pair released their debut album on Idle Hands, while a well-received solo EP for Well Rounded and the Bells collaboration with Pev on Punch Drunk have shown his more idiosyncratic solo side. News now arrives that the producer will close the year with his first full solo release for Punch Drunk.

Entitled Resolve/Fear, the two-track single sees the producer drawing on “distinctly UK influences combining thumping broken jungle techno and modern era Bristolian dub aesthetics”. Available to preview below, the two tracks seem firmly aligned with the off-kilter 4/4 coming from Pev’s Livity Sound camp of late, with “Resolve” making use of atmospheric pads alongside its rugged rhythmic flex, and “Fear” pairing churning sub bass with weighty, syncopated percussion.

Punch Drunk will release Resolve/Fear on 12″ and digital formats on November 4.
