Moog reveal Minifooger effects pedals
The analogue synth specialists have announced a range of compact effects pedals for guitar and bass.
Although Moog are best known for their range of analogue synth hardware, they are also a company well-versed in the world of fully analogue effects; their Moogerfooger stompbox series has long provided an impressive range of indivividual effects boxes including a ring modulator, phaser, and the unique “FreqBox”. Although their design makes these devices are suited for use with guitars, their exhaustive connection options have made them popular with users of analogue synth hardware.
Moog have now announced details of a new line which essentially reduces the Moogerfooger into a more compact package, specifically for use with electric guitar and bass. Going under the name Minifooger, the 100% analogue range will launch with five different models; the MF Drive, a filter-based overdrive pedal that features a Moog Ladder Filter, boutique FET amplifiers, and classic OTAs in its drive section; MF Boost, an expression-enhanced boost pedal; MF Delay, a delay pedal which provides 35mS-700mS of fully analogue repeats; MF Ring, which features a ring modulator based on that found in the Moogerfooger MF-102; and MF Trem, a tremolo pedal whose effects are based on phase cancellation and addition. Those wishing to see the devices (which can also be used with synths) in action can do so in the video below.
The Minifooger range is available now, with prices ranging from $149 to $209.
