DYNOOO drops Astro:Dynamics debut

Astro:Dynamics have announced details of a forthcoming cassette release from Belgian producer DYNOOO.

Hailing from Belgium, DYNOOO, emerged in 2010 on the Digsville label with the Gum Dragon EP, which showcased his woozy take on hip hop and boogie, thick with candy-sweet synths, glitchy beats and sharply defined textures; it’s a style shared with fellow Belgian Cupp Cave, with whom he runs the Surf Kill label which has seen a number of releases from the pair.

The nine-track Mesh N2 Air, which is also mastered by prolific Young Echo artist Vessel, will be the producer’s first official release since releasing the Vvideo Hair LP in 2011; in that time the producer has decamped from Belgium to South London, something which has evidently had something of an effect on his music, with the label describing it as “turning to a more considered synthetic approach that feels ultra-futuristic at the same time as being seeped in nostalgia”. The inclusion of Norwegian-born contemporary artist turned experimental musician Lars T C F Holdhus should give some indication as to the nature of the release, whose strange combination of trancey melodies and gurgling textures are an interesting companion to 1991’s debut for Astro:Dynamics last year.
