Pioneer unveil the XDJ-R1
Pioneer have revealed their new stand-alone and all in one DJ console, the XDJ-R1.
Life for the digital DJ is becoming more accessible by the minute, with Pioneer’s new DJing gadget, the XDJ-R1, coming installed with a new app called remotebox. When connected to a iOS device, wireless connectivity allows the XDJ-R1 to be controlled from anywhere; usually by a laptop or iPad, but mobile phones work too – meaning the deck’s on-board controls needn’t be touched.
The sleek and condensed DJ unit comes equipped with a futuristic bridge of controls anchored by two three-band EQs (one for each deck), hot cues for tricky sampling and looping techniques (think Soulwax), a host of beat effects and other filters, not to mention that cheeky sync button. Another feature of the XDJ-R1 is the touch-enabled XY grid, allowing DJs to effect and process tracks on the fly in a manner similar to James Zabiela. Each deck also comes fitted with a CD drive and USB ports. For more info, specifics and a better understanding of how it all works see the YouTube video provided below.
The XDJ-R1 will arrive next month with Pioneer estimating a retail price of €999.
