Sink into S Olbricht’s slo mo world on new video
A gauzy cut from S Olbricht’s forthcoming Opal Tapes release has been blessed with an all too appropriate video.
Moving images manipulated in a similar manner to Chris Cunningham and Michel Gondry’s work are the theme of Hungarian director Máté Bartha’s visual treatment of Olbricht’s “S_tuder” which has the mysterious and supposedly Los Angeles based producer constructing Dadub-like walls of sound, merged with Emptyset-styled sonics to create a powerfully processed rumble of low end hum lost in a swell of rhythmic syncopation. You can watch Bartha’s video below which shares similar dream-weaved and slow motion maneuvers seen in Martina Topley-Bird’s watery video for her trip hoppy track “Sandpaper Kisses”.
