Bambounou is Full Of Feelings

50 Weapons wunderkind Bambounou will return to the imprint with a new EP, entitled Full Of Feelings.

The 22-year-old producer first emerged with a release on French imprint Youngunz in 2010, before collaborating with Joakim on the Fructose EP for Sound Pellegrino in 2011. However, it was in 2012 that his bass-heavy sound incorporating elements of classic electro and dub techno started to properly manifest itself with releases for Parisian bass outfit ClekClekBoom and the Modeselektor-helmed 50 Weapons. Entitled Full Of Feelings, the three track EP wil arrive sporting an interesting take on the label’s artwork formula and is set for release a mere four months after his debut album Orbiting surfaced on 50 Weapons.

Lead track “Filled” sees him revisit the weighty, swung techno of his debut, with deep subs and abstract dub effects lingering in the background, while the other tracks see something slightly different; “Brim” is a brittle piece of rolling techno whose neon stabs recall some of Shed’s Equalized output, albeit with sunken, rubbery bass, while “Boarder” offers a similarly minimal track whose threadbare Objekt-esque rhythms combine with glowing, Jarre-inspired synth ambience.

In true 50 Weapons tradition, the briefest of clips has been uploaded to Soundcloud; “Filled” can be previewed in 46-second form below.

50 Weapons will release Full Of Feelings on 12″ and digital formats on March 15.
