Peaking Lights’ Aaron Coyes next up on Rush Hour’s “No Label” series

Peaking Lights’ Aaron Coyes will provide the latest Rush Hour released “No Label” release, with a 12″ of edits.

The “No Label” series has always lived up to its title, issuing at times bizarre vinyl only material from the likes of Dean Blunt, Inga Copeland, Stellar OM Source and Aardvarck since it’s foundation in August 2011. Despite this, the label seems to be veering even further leftfield in 2013, with the recently announced addition of William Burnett’s Black Deer project now joined by Peaking Lights band member Aaron Coyle.

Due for release under the pseudonym APC, the record – simply titled APC Edits Vol.1 – features three edits whose sources seem to include drifting hypnotic kosmische, Italo disco and low slung jazz-funk. Coyle’s appearance on the “No Label” series isn’t entirely surprising; those familiar with the dub-leaning sound of Peaking Lights will know that the duo have a preponderance with weird vintage sounds.

This forthcoming record also hints at an expansion of the “No Label” series, with a differing catalogue number (RHEDITS-001) suggesting further editions are planned alongside the already established series of outright original material.

No release date has been set, but if past No Label releases are anything to go by, quantities will be limited; clips can be listened to at the Rush Hour website.
