Ma Spaventi and G String get ready to Enter the Maze on debut album

Ma Spaventi and G String will continue their work as the Crystal Maze on a forthcoming long player for the Dutch label aDepth Audio entitled Enter The Maze.

Italian producer Spaventi and Dutchman G-String aka Gijs Poortman are perhaps more prominently known for their work together as part of R-A-G alongside M>O>S Recordings boss Aroy Dee, but they have been making a collective production stride under the Crystal Maze moniker in parallel, debuting on Dutch label aDepth Audio last year with an eponymously titled EP before gracing Paul Du Lac’s fledgling Rotterdam based label Bio Rhythm with the Dissolve EP last month.

With only two 12″ releases to their name, a full album of Crystal Maze material is an ambitious statement from the pair, and one that should see Spaventi and Poortman continue to develop the Crystal Maze sound which has been characterised a decidedly dark edged manipulation of analogue techno – the Dungeon Dub version of the title track from their recent Dissolve EP wouldn’t sound out of place on a Do Not Resist The Beat! release. Snippets of all ten tracks from Enter The Maze are available to stream ahead of its release – the title track in particular sounds quite promising.

aDepth Audio will release Enter The Maze By Crystal Maze on November 29.
