Local Authority presents Adam X, Bill Kouligas, Ekoplekz and more at The Rhythm Factory
Adam X, Bill Kouligas and Ekoplekz will head up the inaugural Local Authority event at London’s Rhythm Factory this Saturday.
Aiming to counter the lack of narrative in contemporary clubbing, and “draw the lines between genres and ideas, no matter how close or sparse they might be”, new London based outfit Local Authority have assembled a formidable line-up for their first event, taking place this Saturday, October 6.
The first event will look at the influence of industrial and noise music on techno; radiophonic dub experimentalists Ekoplekz, Mordant Music and Vindicatrix will provide suitably swampy live performances to begin, while sets from PAN boss Bill Kouligas and techno experimentalist Powell will provide an insight into their own broad take on dance music. The night will be rounded off by what are expected to be particularly uncompromising sets of industrial edged 4/4 from Horizontal Ground artist Skirt and Sonic Groove boss Adam X.
In addition to the music itself, Local Authority have arranged for the Rhythm Factory to play host to a prior exhibition from artist Zeke Clough – best known for his grotesque and vivid artwork for the Skull Disco label, and Shackleton’s own Woe To The Septic Heart releases.
